Rohit Sharma Backs Virat Kohli after the Series versus England

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has shown his faith in the batting ability of Virat Kohli. In the recently concluded T20 series against England, Virat Kohli failed to perform, and since then, the rumours about him getting expelled from the Indian side have been catching fire.

Notably, Kohli is not available for the T20i and ODI series against West Indies in August. This led people to believe that the Kohli era may be coming to an end. However, Rohit Sharma has cleared all the myths surrounding the selection of Virat Kohli in the Indian team.

After the third T20i between India and England, Rohit Sharma went on to say, “We will back Virat Kohli; he has been consistent for a long time; one or two matches or series can be bad for anyone – we believe in his quality”.

Sharma further stated, “We are not listening to outside noise, we know what is going inside, what is going outside doesn’t matter for us – we know the quality of each & every player”.

This was not the end as Rohit Sharma extinguished the rumours completely by adding, “If there is quality, we will back them because we believe in the quality of that player – form can be good or bad as time goes”.

The message from Rohit Sharma is crystal clear that India will continue to play Virat Kohli as he is a player who can turn around the game from any position on his given day. Kohli has won countless matches single-handedly for India. His record speaks for itself, and Rohit Sharma has reiterated that fact.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli would be frustrated with his lacklustre form as he scored a century in international cricket back in March 2019. The wait for his 71st century is getting longer and longer. The Indian fans want their top player to rise to the occasion in T20 World Cup.
