Sanju Samson failed to make an impactful performance in the first T20 against Sri Lanka. He was dropped on 3 runs but played a rash shot at the score of 5 runs to give away his wicket. He was ordinary in the field as well, as he dropped a catch and let a ball go to the boundary, my misfielding.

Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian captain, has given a striking statement about Sanju Samson’s abilities. The former Indian captain has stated that Sanju Samson is failing to utilise his immense talent. Gavaskar is one of the biggest admirers of Sanju Samson, but after seeing yesterday’s performance, he is utterly disappointed.

Sunil Gavaskar said, “Sanju Samson has so much talent, but his shot selection sometimes lets him down.” The veteran Indian batter is not happy with Sanju’s shot selection. He wants Samson to be smart about his gameplay, as many able batters like Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad are ready to take his place in the team at a moment’s notice.

There are reports that Sanju Samson can be dropped from the 2nd T20 against Sri Lanka as he failed to create a long-lasting impression in the first match.
