Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria is making waves with his recent declaration that Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan is a superior player compared to the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Cheteshwar Pujara.
Kaneria expressed his disappointment with the Indian selectors for ignoring Sarfaraz in the first two Tests against Australia, stating that if they don’t play him now, then when? He believes that the young player’s impressive form in domestic cricket should not be ignored. He also believes that keeping him on the sidelines could have a negative impact on his future.
Sarfaraz has been on fire in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season, accumulating a staggering 556 runs in six first-class games, with an average of 92.66, and three centuries to his name. He also had impressive performances in the previous two seasons, where he recorded 982 and 928 runs respectively.
Kaneria emphasized that Sarfaraz’s consistent record-breaking performances in domestic cricket deserve recognition and that it’s not right to ignore such talent. It’s time for the Indian selectors to give Sarfaraz Khan the recognition he deserves and bring his talent to the international arena.
