T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 Points Table: T20 World Cup 2024 is slowly moving towards its end. Super-8 matches are being played in the tournament. A total of 20 teams participated in the World Cup, but after the group stage is over, the fight for the trophy remains between only 8 teams. These 8 teams have been divided into two groups, in which the top-2 teams will play the semi-finals. So let’s know what is the condition of all the teams in both the groups and which teams are close to making it to the semi-finals.
Group-1 has teams from India, Australia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. On the other hand, Group-2 has teams from South Africa, England, West Indies and America. At the time of writing this story, Australia is number one in Group-1, India is number two, Afghanistan is number three and Bangladesh is number four. Whereas, in Group-2, South Africa is first, West Indies is second, England is third and America is fourth.

India and Australia are expected to reach the semi-finals in Group-1
So far, all the teams in Group-1 have played 1-1 match, in which India and Australia have won. Right now all the teams in this group have a chance to make it to the semi-finals. All the teams have to play a total of 3-3 matches. Now it will be interesting to see which two teams make it to the semi-finals from Group-1. However, with 1-1 win, India and Australia are looking like strong contenders for the semi-finals.
England in danger of being out of Group-2
So far all the teams in Group-2 have played 2-2 matches, in which only South Africa has won both the matches. Rest England and West Indies have won 1-1 matches. Whereas, America has lost both the matches. From here, South Africa’s entry seems almost certain. Meanwhile, the battle between England and West Indies is still on. West Indies has to play its last match against South Africa, whereas the English team will play its last match against America. If both the teams win their last matches, then the team with better net run rate will get the place.
