  • IPL 2022, CSK VS SRH: Sunrisers beat Chennai by 8 wickets

CSK vs SRH at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai saw Hyderabad dominating the four-time champions easily and finally securing the first win for them in the tournament.

CSK lost the toss and was invited to bat first in the game by Kane Williamson. Chennai could only manage 154/7 in their 20 overs which Hyderabad, with more than 2 overs, quickly chased to spare.

    CSK vs SRH highlights:

    CSK Innings

Chennai had a slow start with Uthappa and Gaikwad, not able to pierce the gaps in the field. Uthappa was the first one to be sent back to the pavilion. He scored 15 off 11 before Washington Sundar dismissed him.

Gaikwad soon followed his partner in the dugout when Natrajan bowled a blistering yorker to find the gap between his bat and pad. CSK was reduced to 36/1 in 5.1 overs and needed a big partnership to consolidate the inning.

Rayudu and Moeen Ali shouldered the responsibility and formed a 62 run partnership for the third wicket. However, they failed to up the run rate in their stand, and when Rayudu got dismissed for run a ball 27, CSK was struggling at 98/3 in 13.3 overs.

Soon CSK suffered a collapse, and the team found themselves in a world of trouble. Moeen Ali scored 48 off 35, and Dube and Dhoni followed him in the dressing room without contributing much. Jadeja and Bravo’s few hits propelled CSK to a respectable 154/7 in the 20 overs.

    SRH Innings

Chasing 155, SRH had a handsome partnership at the top that took the game away from CSK. The openers forged an 89 run stand for the first wicket in 12 overs to put SRH on top of the match.

Kane Williamson scored 32 off 40 before hitting a ball straight to Moeen Ali at covers. Abhishek Sharma scored 75 off 50, including 5 fours and 3 sixes, to announce his arrival in style in Tata IPL 2022.

Rahul Tripathi also returned to form with a blazing 39 off 15, consisting of 5 fours and 2 two massive sixes. SRH chased the target with 16 balls to spare to register their first win of Tata IPL 2022.

  • IPL 2022, GT VS PBKS: Tewatia snatches Jittery game for GT

GT vs PBKS, a thrilling match that went until the last ball. Rahul Tewatia smashed two consecutive sixes on the last two balls to take his side home in the nerve-wracking game against Punjab Kings. Shubman Gill also played a vital and gigantic knock of 96 off 59. Titans won the match by 6 wickets.

    GT VS PBKS Highlights:

    PBKS Inning:

Mayank Agarwal again disappointed the PBKS camp and could only manage 5 off 9 in his short stay at the crease. Newly included Johnny Bairstow also did not make an impact and scored only 8 off 8. Shikhar Dhawan and Liam Livingstone combined in the middle to steer Punjab’s boat in the match.

Shikhar played an anchoring role while Liam Livingstone hammered the Titans bowler to keep the scoring rate healthy. Dhawan made 35 off 30 while Livingstone played a blistering knock of 64 off 27, consisting of 7 fours and 4 sixes in GT vs PBKS battle.

Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan also looked threatening in their little stay at the crease. The former scored 23 off 11, while Shahrukh made 15 off 8. However, Punjab Kings lost a few quick wickets before the death overs and found themselves in a tricky spot.

Rahul Chahar played an unbeaten enterprising knock of 22 runs to take Punjab to 189/9 in 20 overs.

    GT Inning:

Chasing a huge total, Gujarat Titans needed one of their options to carry the innings. Mathew Wade departed on 6 but Shubman Gill played his career-best knock in the Indian Premier League.

Gill and Sai Sudharsan formed a 101 run stand for the 2nd wicket to put Gujarat in a commanding position in the GT vs PBKS clash. Sai scored 35 before Rahul Chahar sent him back into the pavilion. On the other hand, Gill continued his fireworks but the run rate took a hit due to the new batter at the crease.

Suddenly the pressure piled up and both Gill and Pandya found it hard to score boundaries. Gill mistimed one in the 19th over and departed for a well made 96 off 59, including 11 fours and a six.

With Gill’s wicket and Hardik Pandya’s unfortunate run-out, Gujarat Titans found themselves on the back foot in the last over. On the last two balls of the match, Gujarat needed 12 to win with Rahul Tewatia in the batters’ stead.

Punjab had almost sealed the victory but Tewatia pulled off a miracle to deposit Odean Smith for consecutive sixes over the mid-wicket to ultimately triumph in the exhilarating GT vs PBKS clash.

  • IPL 2022, DC VS LSG: Quinton scores tons of runs in LSG’s win

DC vs LSG, the match 15th of Tata IPL 2022 was a thriller in which Quinton de Kock scored 80 runs to take his side home.

    DC vs LSG Highlights:

Delhi Capitals posted 149/3 in 20 overs on the board, which was never going to be sufficient against the strong batting unit of Lucknow Super Giants.

    At the toss:

KL Rahul won the toss and asked fellow wicketkeeper captain Rishabh Pant to bat first. Pant revealed that Delhi has brought in David Warner and Andrew Tye in the playing XI in DC vs LSG match. On the other hand, Rahul revealed that LSG had dropped Manish Pandey and brought Krishnappa Gowtham in his place in the playing XI.

    DC Innings:

Delhi Capitals had a blistering start with Prithvi Shaw scoring runs in almost areas of the ground. The right-handed opening batter scored 50 in just 30 balls, meanwhile, David Warner struggled to find the timing. Shaw’s dismissal in the 8th over opened up the doors for LSG’s comeback. Bishnoi quickly sent back Warner as well to pile pressure on Delhi.

Prithvi Shaw scored 61 off 34, while Warner could only manage 4 off 12. Lucknow tightened their grasp on the match with Ravi Bishnoi and Krishnappa Gowatham bowling in tandem in the middle overs. The spinners kept a lid on Delhi’s scoring rate and Bishnoi found a gap between the bat and pad of Rovman Powell. The West Indian power-hitter scored a meagre 3 off 10.

Rishabh Pant and Sarfraz Khan consolidated the inning for Capitals and created the platform for launching an assault in the death overs. The duo smashed LSG bowlers in the 16th and 17th overs but failed to find boundaries in the last three overs. Both Pant and Sarfaraz could not pierce the gap in the fields and Delhi only managed 19 runs in the last three overs.

Delhi Capitals finished on 149/3 in DC vs LSG clash with Pant remaining unbeaten on 39* and Sarfraz on 36*.

    LSG Innings:

Chasing 150 Lucknow had a game-changing partnership at the top with Quinton de Kock playing in full force against the Delhi Capitals. He put up an exhibition of stroke-play, which his partner, KL Rahul enjoyed from the other end. The opening duo made a significant stand of 73 runs for the Super Giants.

Kuldeep Yadav sent back KL Rahul on 24 to raise a few hopes for Delhi Capitals. Evin Lewis could not contribute much in the chase and followed Rahul in the dugout pretty soon enough. However, Quinton continued his assault from the other end and kept decimating the Capitals’ bowlers.

Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Quinton 80 and suddenly two new batters, Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya were left with the task of finishing the chase. Pandya and Hooda kept their cools and collected significant runs in the 19th over to almost seal the DC vs LSG clash in favour of their team.

Shardul Thakur sent back Hooda on the first ball of the 20th over but the young sensation Ayush Badoni arrived on the crease to smash Thakur for a four and six to win the game.

  • IPL 2022, KKR VS MI: Pat Cummins Steals the Thriller from MI

KKR vs MI, the 14th match of Tata IPL 2022, was a thrilling encounter that saw Pat Cummins obliterate Mumbai Indians’ bowlers to somehow win the game for KKR with 4 overs to spare.

Pat Cummins equalled KL Rahul’s record of the fastest half-century in IPL history in only 14 balls. He remained unbeaten on 56* off 15 to win the match for KKR.

Earlier in the game, Mumbai Indians posted 161/4 on the board on a track that played sluggishly in the first inning.

    At the toss:

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first in KKR vs MI clash. Iyer revealed that KKR had made two changes to its playing XI by bringing Pat Cummins and Rasikh Salam for Tim Southee and Shivam Mavi.

Mumbai Indians had also made two changes to its playing XI by including Dewald Brevis and Suryakumar Yadav for Tim David and Anmolpreet Singh.

    MI Innings:

MI had a slow start, with openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan finding it hard to time the ball. Their difficult stay at the crease hampered Mumbai Indians’ run rate in the KKR vs MI battle. Rohit Sharma scored 3 off 12, and Ishan Kishan could only muster 14 off 21.

Dewald Brevis made his debut for MI in the number 3 position and looked good in his first outing. He scored a quickfire 29 off 19 to slightly improve the scoring rate for Mumbai Indians. The debutant was removed by Varun Chakravarthy, who deceived him in the air to help cause a stumping.

Tilak Varma’s arrival on the crease infused the MI inning with much-needed energy. He and Suryakumar Yadav combined to up the ante for Mumbai Indians. Yadav scored a brilliant 52 off 36 to set the platform for lower-order batters,

Keiron Pollard destroyed KKR in the 5 balls that he faced. He hit 3 sixes and remained unbeaten on 22* off 5, while Varma played a handy knock of 38* off 27.

    KKR Innings:

KKR needed 162 to win the KKR vs MI encounter. They had hoped for a good start, but Anjikya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Sam Billings, Nitish Rana and Andre Russell all got out before reaching even 20 run mark. Tymal Mills and Murugan Ashwin removed two batters each of the lot mentioned.

On the other hand, Venkatesh Iyer played the role of a grinding anchor who stayed till the end to take his team towards the winning line. Pat Cummins joined him in the middle when KKR was 5 down on 101 in 13.1 overs.

Everyone believed that the match would go on till the last over, but Pat Cummins had something completely else going through his mind. He dismantled the star-studded bowling unit of Mumbai Indians and hit 10 balls for boundaries out of the 15 he faced in the match.

Pat Cummins changed the game on its head and made a mockery of MI bowlers to make his team triumph in KKR vs MI clash.

  • IPL 2022, RCB VS RR: Karthik, Shahbaz guide RCB to win

RCB vs RR at Wankhede Stadium witnessed two of the finest knocks under pressure in Tata IPL 2022. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed combined to bring back RCB in the game and ultimately clinch the match for their side with 4 balls to spare. The former remained unbeaten on 44* off 23, while the latter played a crucial inning of 45 off 26.

Rajasthan Royals posted 169/3 on a sluggish pitch and looked set to put a tough fight against their opposition on a Tuesday night. However, RCB somehow managed to chase down the target to blemish Rajasthan’s perfect record in the tournament.

    At the Toss:

Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first owing to the due that falls in Wankhede during the team batting second. However, much to everyone’s surprise, there was almost no due in the RR vs RCB clash. Both captains revealed that they were playing with an unchanged side.

    RR Innings:

Rajasthan Royals could not get off to a flier even after losing only one wicket in the powerplay. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the only one to be sent back to the pavilion by a beautiful inswinger from David Willey that found the gap between bat and pad of the young prospect. Jaiswal could only score 4 off 6, which continued his struggle in the Tata IPL 2022.

Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal batted sensibly during the field restrictions to set a platform for the middle-order. The pitch at Wankhede behaved wholly opposite to what it has been recognised for. Both Buttler and Padikkal found it hard to time the ball due to the surface rewarding bowlers for good line and length. The game hung in a poised balance with only around 40 runs in the first 6 overs and one wicket.

Padikkal tried breaking the shackles after the powerplay and played some stunning shots. However, Harshal Patel deceives him with a slower ball to get RCB the prized wicket. Sanju Samson then joined a struggling Buttler in the middle. Hasaranga removed Samson on 8 to add to the troubles of RR in the match.

Shimron Hetmyer replaced Samson on the crease, and even the explosive West-Indian left-hander struggled in the initial phase of his inning. Nevertheless, Buttler and Hetmyer snatched the momentum away from RCB in the final four overs to help RR post a competitive total. In the last over of the inning, the duo smashed 23 runs to raise hopes in Rajasthan Royals camp. Jos Buttler and Hetmyer remained not out on 70* and 42*, respectively.

    RCB Innings:

Royal Challengers had a fine start with openers Anuj Rawat and Faf du Plessis crossing 20s in the powerplay. However, a few quick wickets from RR bowlers after the field restrictions wholly transformed how the game was turning out.

Chahal incited a false shot from Faf du Plessis by bowling slower than his usual deliveries. At the same time, Virat Kohli had a horrible miscommunication with David Willey to get dismissed early on in his innings. Rajasthan bowled beautifully and had Bangalore stuttering at 87-5 at one point of time in the game.

Nevertheless, the partnership for the 6th wicket between Karthik and Shahbaz changed the tides of the match. Dinesh Karthik smashed 21 runs off R Ashwin’s over to transpose the game’s flow in the RCB vs RR clash. Karthik and Shahbaz continued their assault for four overs to ensure that RCB crossed the finish line.

  • IPL 2022, SRH VS LSG: Giants overshadow the Sun-rise

SRH vs LSG at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai saw Lucknow Super Giants winning the second consecutive match in the tournament to rise in the rankings.

KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda stitched an important partnership for the 4th wicket and propelled Super Giants to 169 to ultimately secure a victory against Sunrisers.

SRH’s batting unit once again disappointed with a pretty ordinary outing and looks short of a binding player that keeps the innings together.

    At the toss:

Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bowl first and revealed that SRH had made no changes to its playing XI. KR Rahul unveiled that LSG has brought in Jason Holder in place of Dushmantha Chameera.

    LSG Innings:

Batting first, Lucknow suffered a few setbacks initially, with Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis and Manish Pandey departing under the powerplay. Washington Sundar bowled well to remove de Kock and Lewis, while Romario Shepherd sent back Pandey into the dressing room.

Hooda and Rahul in SRH vs LSG clash

At 27-3, Lucknow required a partnership to gain momentum. Deepak Hooda and Rahul formed a match-defining stand of 87 runs for the 4th wicket. Hooda’s 51 off 33 became the engine for LSG innings. He kept the run rate decent and, with KL Rahul, set a launching platform for his team.

However, after Hooda’s departure, SRH managed to curb the scoring rate, and Rahul found himself unable to score freely. T Natrajan ended Rahul’s stay at the crease to put LSG on the backfoot. Rahul made 68 off 50, including 6 fours and a six.

Ayush Badoni, the young sensation, was unfortunately found short on his crease by Romario Shepherd to further add to the list of problems for LSG. In the end, Lucknow could manage 169/7 in 20 overs at SRH vs LSG clash.

    SRH Innings:

SRH openers once again disappointed with their dismal batting display at the top. Abhishek Sharma only scored 13 off 11, while Kane Williamson managed a run-a-ball 16. Avesh Khan sent back both openers to put LSG ahead in SRH vs LSG clash.

Rahul Tripathi batted at 3rd and controlled the chase throughout his stay at the crease. He scored 44 off 30, including 5 fours and a six. Aiden Markram failed to impress against LSG in his sluggish inning of 12 off 14. Krunal Pandya dismissed Tripathi and Markram to break the back of SRH’s chase.

Nicholas Pooran looked set to win the match for SRH, but Avesh Khan removed him to deny SRH any chance of winning the game. Pooran made 34 off 24, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Ultimately SRH fell short by 12 runs and scored 157/9 in its 20 overs. Avesh Khan took 4 wickets, while Jason Holder accounted for 3 SRH batters.

  • IPL 2022, CSK VS PBKS: All-round Livingstone ruins CSK’s plans

CSK vs PBKS at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai witnessed Liam Livingstone justifying his price tag for Punjab Kings by scoring 60 runs and taking 2 wickets in the match to help Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 54 runs.

Punjab posted 180/8 on the board in 20 overs on the back of Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma’s blazing knock. In reply, CSK could only manage a paltry 126 before being bowled out by the opposition.

    At the Toss:

CSK, for the first time, won the toss and elected to bowl first. Ravindra Jadeja announced that they have brought in Chris Jordan in place of Tushar Deshpande in the playing XI. On the other hand, Punjab had made two changes to its side in CSK vs PBKS clash. Mayank Agarwal revealed that Harpreet Brar and Raja Bawa missed out, and Jitesh Sharma and Vaibhav Arora replaced them.

    PBKS Innings:

Mayank Agarwal, the captain for Punjab Kings, departed on the second ball of the match when he failed to keep a cover drive along the ground. Bhanuka Rajapaksa soon followed his skipper in the dugout due to a horrible mix up between Shikhar Dhawan and him while running between the wickets.

CSK looked on top with 2 wickets on just 14 runs, but Liam Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan ruined the party for Jadeja and co. The duo formed a 95 run partnership for the 3rd wicket to put Punjab back on track in the CSK vs PBKS encounter.

Shikhar Dhawan played second fiddle in the partnership due to Livingstone’s astounding hitting against the CSK bowlers. Dhawan scored 34 off 24 while Livingstone managed 60 off 32, including 5 sixes and 5 fours. However, both of them departed in quick succession, which helped CSK to put a curb on the scoring rate.

The young Jitesh Sharma playing in his debut match, impressed everyone with his hitting ability as he played an enterprising knock of 26 off 17, consisting of 3 massive sixes. Dwaine Pretorius and Chris Jordan picked two wickets each, and Punjab finished on 180/8 in 20 overs, around 20 runs short from what they would have wanted at the halfway stage of their innings.

    CSK Innings:

Chasing 181, CSK needed partnerships at the top to cross the finish line. However, Punjab pacers reduced them to 36-5 in 7.3 overs with some good line and length inducing false shots. Vaibhav Arora, the debutant, in particular, was very impressive with his ability to move the ball both ways flawlessly. He picked up 2 crucial wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali.

With 5 wickets down, CSK had an insurmountable task in their hands. Nevertheless, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni showed some fighting spirit to construct a 62 run stand for the 6th wicket. Dube played a fine knock of 57 off 30, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. Livingstone, the man with the golden arm in CSK vs PBKS encounter, removed Shivam Dube to extinguish the hopes of Chennai Super Kings.

Unfortunately, MS Dhoni nicked one straying on the leg side to be sent back to the dressing room. PBKS wrapped up CSK on 126 in 18 overs to ultimately win the CSK vs PBKS battle by 54 runs.

  • Women’s CWC 2022: Healy’s Monumental 170 help Australia Lift the Trophy

Australia Women has lifted the trophy for ICC Women’s CWC 2022 to register their record 7th title in the 50 over World Cup.

Australia posted a massive 356/5 to set a humungous target in the final. Defending champions, England Women found it impossible to execute the batting application required to pull off the victory.

The English batters could only notch up 285 to relinquish the World Cup title by 71 runs.

Alyssa Healy, the Australian opener, played a career-defining knock of 170 runs to put Australia Women miles ahead of England Women in the finals of Women’s CWC 2022.

Healy registered the highest score of this tournament and the second-highest score for Australia Women in World Cup history.

She also became the first woman cricketer to score consecutive centuries in the semi-final and final of the 50 over World Cup.

Healy, along with her opening partner Rachael Haynes constructed a 160 run partnership. The stand between her and Haynes is the highest for any wicket in Women’s World Cup history.

    Australian Innings:

Invited to bat first, Australia gladly accepted the offer with both hands. Openers Healy and Haynes created another magical stand for the 1st wicket following their explosives in the semi-final against West Indies.

The duo put up 160 runs before Sophie Ecclestone removed Haynes on 68 to break the historic 1st wicket partnership. However, England’s trouble did not subside as Beth Mooney joined Healy in the middle to multifold the damage.

Healy and Mooney upped the ante for Australian Women to significantly accelerate the innings. They formed a blazing stand of 156 runs for the 2nd wicket in just 98 deliveries.

Anya Shrubsole brought life back to England Women by dismissing Healy, Mooney and Meg Lanning in quick succession. She also effected a run out to send back Ashleigh Gardner.

    English Innings:

Chasing a massive 357 to win, England Women needed at least two extensive partnerships to take them to the finish line in ICC Women’s CWC 2022 final. However, England kept losing wickets at regular intervals to derail their chase.

Natalie Sciver’s majestic inning of 148* was not enough to pull off the victory against mighty Australians. No one from England’s batting line-up stood up to partner Sciver to pull off an ultimate upset. None of the batters barring Sciver crossed 30 in the colossal chase.

Australia bowled out England on 285 in 43.4 overs to win the ICC Women’s CWC 2002 by 71 runs.

  • IPL 2022, GT VS DC: Gill’s Fiery Knock Guides GT to Win

GT vs DC at MCA stadium in Pune saw Shubman Gill prove his skills with a scintillating knock that guided the newborn franchise to a win.

Gujarat Titans posted 171/6 in 20 overs on the back of an excellent inning of 84 runs from Gill filled with gorgeous strokeplay.

In reply, Delhi Capitals failed to make partnerships with the substance required to overcome the target in front of them.

    At the Toss:

Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl first and revealed that they had made one change to their side by bringing in Mustafizur Rahman in place of Kamlesh Nagarkoti. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans remained unchanged.

    GT Innings:

Mathew Wade was sent to the pavilion with 0 runs on the board for Gujarat. Mustafizur Rahman was the first one to strike for Delhi Capitals. Vijay Shankar followed Wade on the crease but had a dismal batting performance in the middle. He scored 13 off 20 balls with a strike rate of 65 in the GT vs DC encounter.

Shubman Gill, on the other end, was wreaking havoc by single-handedly taking his team forward at an acceptable run rate. Gill overshadowed the big hitter Hardik Pandya in their partnership of 65 runs for the third wicket. Hardik Pandya scored a fighting 31 off 27 before Khaleel Ahmed sent him back.

Shubman Gill’s knock of 84 off 46, including 4 sixes and 6 fours, but Khaleel removed him at an essential point in the game. Gill got out in the 18th over when GT needed him to fire in the end and take the team to as much as possible. Miller and Tewatia contributed 20 and 14 runs to propel Gujarat to 171 runs in 20 overs.

    DC Innings:

Chasing 171, DC needed at least two partnerships of significance, but Gujarat Titans’ ploy of bowling short at MCA worked impressively to help them win the match. Lockie Ferguson was the star for the Titans in their bowling effort against DC to win the game.

The top three of the Delhi disappointed again, with Prithvi Shaw, Tim Seifert and Mandeep Singh failing to register innings of any importance. Ferguson sent back Shaw and Mandeep while Hardik accounted for Tim Seifert.

Delhi was down on 34/3 and required some heavy-lifting to pull the match to their side. It is when Rishabh Pant, the captain, stood up to the occasion in GT vs DC clash. Pant combined with last match hero Lalit Yadav to form a 61 run stand for the 4th wicket. However, miscommunication between the two led to Lalit Yadav being run out by Abhinav Manohar.

Lalit’s dismissal opened up the doors for Gujarat’s comeback. Lockie Ferguson was brought into the attack, and he removed dangerous Pant and Axar Patel to help his team grasp the game by the neck. Pant scored 43 off 29 before Ferguson deceived him with his pace. Rovman Powell did show some promise, but it was already too late for Delhi to come out on the winning side in GT vs DC battle.

Delhi fell short by 14 runs to concede the first loss of the tournament.

  • IPL 2022, MI VS RR: Jos the Boss hands MI second loss

MI vs RR at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai was a nail-biter that went till the last over in which Rajasthan ultimately triumphed.

Rajasthan batted first and posted 193 runs on the board on the back of Jos Buttler’s scintillating hundred and an explosive cameo from Shimron Hetmyer.

In reply, Mumbai Indians looked solid and on course for most of the chase, but a few quick wickets in succession in death overs derailed their chase. Mumbai ultimately fell short by 23 runs.

    At the Toss:

MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss in MI vs RR clash and elected to bowl first. Sharma announced that they had not made any changes to their playing XI from the last match. Samson revealed that Rajasthan was also unchanged from the previous game.

    RR Innings:

Rajasthan Royals lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal early in the innings that brought Sanju Samson on the crease to partner Jos Buttler. Samson and Buttler formed an 82 run stand for the 3rd wicket to put Rajasthan in a commanding position.

Sanju Samson scored 30 off 21, including three massive sixes, before being dismissed by Keiron Pollard. Jos Buttler was in phenomenal touch smashing RR bowlers all around the park then joined Shimron Hetmyer to increase the damage done to MI.

Hetmyer played an unbelievable inning of 35 in only 14 deliveries in MI vs RR battle. He smashed 3 fours and 3 sixes in his entertaining stay at the crease. Bumrah sent back Hetmyer and Buttler in quick succession to put a brake on the RR scoring rate. Jos Buttler, before his departure, anchored the Rajasthan innings in style by scoring 100 off 68, comprising 5 sixes and 11 fours.

Royals batters failed to accelerate in the last two overs, and MI successfully managed to keep them under 200. RR finished on 193/8 in 20 overs.

    MI Innings:

Chasing a massive total, Mumbai needed their captain to step up and take the lead role in the chase for the team. However, Rohit Sharma could not fulfil the responsibility and scored a meagre 10 off 5 before Prasidh Krishna sent him back into the pavilion in MI vs RR clash.

Anmolpreet Singh batted at number 3 in the absence of Suryakumar Yadav but failed to leave any lasting impression in his short inning of only 5 runs. Ishan Kishan and the uncapped left-hander Tilak Varma played well in the middle and established an 81 run partnership for the third wicket.

Ishan Kishan scored 54 off 43, and Tilak Varma played a blitzing knock of 61 off 33. Trent Boult sent back Kishan while the off-spinner Ashwin picked the wicket of Tilak Varma. Ashwin and Boult out MI on the backfoot, and Yuzi Chahal dismissed Tim David and Daniel Sams to almost extinguish the hopes of Mumbai Indians.

Keiron Pollard did give Rajasthan a bit of a scare, but ultimately the target was too far away for him to reach. MI could only manage 170 runs to concede the 2nd loss in the tournament.
