The T20 World Cup 2024 is over and now the ICC has started preparing for its next tournament. The next tournament of the ICC is the Champions Trophy and it will be hosted by Pakistan. For this, the Pakistan Cricket Board does not want to let any kind of deficiency happen. Therefore, PCB is engaged in repairing its stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi. For this, a proposal for the schedule has also been sent to the ICC, according to which this tournament will be held from 19 February to 9 March. PCB is trying its best to get Team India to go to Pakistan for this tournament. Meanwhile, BCCI has given a big blow, after which Pakistan Cricket Board is in tension.
Team India will not go to Pakistan?
Indian team has a big stature in cricket and wherever it plays in the tournament, there is a big opportunity to earn money. Pakistan Cricket Board, which is going through a crisis, does not want to lose this opportunity. Therefore, it is trying its best to get Team India to go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Therefore, it offered a single venue to convince BCCI. Despite this, BCCI does not want to send Team India to Pakistan. According to a reports, BCCI sources have said that there has been no discussion about the Champions Trophy yet, but there is little hope of going there. The final decision on this matter will depend on the central government.

Why is Team India not willing to go to Pakistan?
The biggest reason behind Team India not going to Pakistan is the relationship between the two countries. There has been a rift between India and Pakistan for a long time. Due to Pakistan’s terrorist activities in India, the central government had decided to end all kinds of relations. The Indian government is concerned about the safety of the players. Therefore, now no bilateral series is played between the two countries. The Indian team has not visited Pakistan since 2008. The two teams have only played just 1 series in the last 16 years, which took place in 2012-13.
Will Champions Trophy be held in hybrid model?
BCCI sources have said that the hybrid model has been put forward to the ICC regarding the Champions Trophy. The ICC will decide on this matter during the meeting to be held in Sri Lanka. If the BCCI’s demand is accepted, then India’s matches will be held at a neutral venue and PCB may have to change the schedule. Asia Cup 2023 was also played under the hosting of Pakistan, but after the demand of BCCI, India’s match was held in Sri Lanka under the hybrid model.
