IND vs NZ three match ODI series is all set to begin from 18th January 2023 and both the teams have announced their squads. The first match of the series is scheduled to be played in Hyderabad. India is going to miss the services of KL Rahul and Axar Patel in this series due to their family commitments. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are yet to get completely fit for the international level. Recently, India toured New Zealand where they lost the ODI series in absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. India has a very good chance of becoming the number 1 team in ODIs by whitewashing New Zealand in the upcoming ODI series. Here are 7 players who expected to perform in IND vs NZ ODI series.

Top 7 Players Expected to Perform in IND vs NZ ODI Series

    1- Virat Kohli

The Indian run machine Virat Kohli is back in form with 2 centuries against Sri Lanka in the last ODI series. He has already reached the landmark of 46 centuries in ODIs and is quickly racing towards the 50 century mark in ODI. Kohli can be the biggest threat for New Zealand bowling line-up which seems to lack the spark with Trent Boult in the mix.

    2- Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma failed to get a big score in the recently concluded IND vs SL ODI series but he showed glimpses of his glory days. The Indian cricket team captain is just one century away from getting back into the form. He is expected to score a lot of runs in the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.

    3- Mohammed Siraj

Rohit Sharma called Mohammed Siraj a rare talent when he took 4 wickets in the last ODI against Sri Lanka. The pacer from Hyderabad is currently among the best bowlers with the new ball. He has been great for India in the powerplays and we expect him to perform good against the Kiwis.

    4- Finn Allen

Finn Allen is struggling nowadays but he has a fabulous record against India in ODIs. The New Zealand cricket team batter is just one good score away from getting into the touch like Rohit Sharma. We expect him to return to form in this series with a cracking century against India.

    5- Tom Latham

Tom Latham played a blinder against India when the Indian cricket team toured New Zealand in the last year. He has been fabulous for New Zealand over the years in middle overs. Latham’s ability to manoeuvre the spin will help him in the series against India.

    6- Devon Conway

We can call him the rising star of world cricket. Conway has taken over the role of most reliable batter in New Zealand cricket team during the bad phase of Kane Williamson. He is currently in that phase that you can expect at least one century from him in the IND vs NZ ODI series.

    7- Umran Malik

Umran Malik is an impact player and he showed his capabilities in the series against Sri Lanka. The fast bowler is notching up the pace with every match and people expect him to break Shoaib Akhtar’s record. He will likely go for runs but will also produce wickets in the middle overs.
