Marnus Labuschagne, the number one batter in Test cricket, shocked everyone when he signalled for a cigarette and lighter to the dugout while batting in the 3rd Test match between Australia and South Africa. The insane scene baffled everyone, including the commentators. At first, everyone thought that Marnus was mocking the South African bowlers with this gesture.
The on-air commentator Isha Guha said, “No, he’s not asking for cigarettes, he’s asking for a lighter.”
To which her fellow commentator Keery’O Keefe replied, “That was the most remarkable signal I’ve seen in world cricket for a cigarette lighter from a non-smoker.”

The viewers in the stadium and at home were stunned by the visuals. Later on, it was confirmed by the commentators that Marnus Labuchagne was actually having trouble with his helmet’s visor and to get that corrected, he asked for a lighter. Whatever the reason, the antics of Marnus Labuschagne in Test cricket do not seem to stop.
