PSL 2024: Aleem Dar, one of the most reputed umpires in International Cricket was the main target on social media because of his umpiring in Pakistan vs New Zealand match. Pakistan went on to score 311 for a loss of 8 wickets. Babar Azam decided to declare the innings and gave New Zealand an interesting target of 138 from just 15 overs. New Zealand was cruising well with 61 runs from just 7.3 overs, but because of bad light, the match was drawn.

Aleem Dar was constantly checking the lights and was constantly asking to stop the match. Because of his brave umpiring Aleem Dar was slammed by Twitter fans.

Some die-hard cricket fans even accused Aleem Dar of match-fixing and trolled him severely on Twitter. Fans should understand that umpire was just doing his job and after all he was looking for player’s safety.

Pakistan cricket board needs to prepare better pitches, use better balls, and play an aggressive brand of cricket. Test cricket can no longer afford draws. The 2nd Test Match between Pakistan and New Zealand will take place in Karachi from 2nd January 2023.
