IPL 2024: Throwback When Delhi’s Politics Almost Ended 11-Year-Old Sanju Samson’s Hope To Play Cricket!

Almost 15 years ago Viswanath Samson took his 11-year-old kid to Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium to check the notice board outside which contained the list of the names of the children picked for the Delhi U13 camp from the trials held earlier.

The incensed father came home, took voluntary retirement from Delhi Police, and decided to return to their ancestral house in Kerala. Rest, as they say, is history as the next time Viswanath was back at Feroz Shah Kotla, his son was playing for Rajasthan Royals, against Mumbai Indians, in the Final of the Champions League T20.
