The excitement is building up as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is only a few months away. India is fully engaged in preparing for the tournament, which is scheduled to commence on October 5th. The anticipation for this prestigious event is growing day by day.

Recently, a team from the International Cricket Council (ICC) arrived in India to conduct the final security checks for all the designated venues ahead of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The visiting ICC team consists of experts in security, events, and broadcast domains, and they will be conducting a thorough assessment of the venues.

The ICC’s reconnaissance team has completed their inspection of several venues for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. They have visited the Wankhede Stadium, which will host one of the semi-finals, and were pleased with the arrangements there, providing advice on operational matters.

Currently, the team is conducting a security inspection at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, a crucial venue for the World Cup, as it will host the tournament opener, the highly anticipated IND vs. PAK match, and the Final.

Earlier, the team reviewed the checks at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium, Trivandrum’s Greenfield International Stadium, and Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. They found the preparations at Chepauk and Chinnaswamy Stadiums satisfactory, but suggested some adjustments for the Greenfield International Stadium.

Following their inspection at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the ICC team will travel to Hyderabad before heading to the northern and northeastern regions of India for venue assessments.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) received warnings from security forces regarding potential security threats for certain matches, notably the crucial IND vs PAK fixture scheduled for October 15 in Ahmedabad. The police advised the BCCI to consider rescheduling the match due to security concerns arising from the coinciding Navratri festival’s celebrations in Ahmedabad.

The original schedule of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was released two weeks ago, commencing on October 5 with England facing New Zealand in Ahmedabad. The tournament will culminate with the final on November 17, also to be held in Ahmedabad.
