Renowned cricket commentator Aakash Chopra has voiced his disappointment with India’s batting display in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia, attributing it as the primary reason for their defeat.
Known for his insightful analysis, Chopra highlighted the persistent struggles of India’s batting department across all formats in recent years.
Despite high hopes and aspirations, India’s underwhelming batting performance dashed their dreams of clinching the prestigious WTC title at the Oval.
Expressing his concerns about the Indian batting lineup, Chopra stated, “The problem isn’t the bowling. It hasn’t been the bowling for a few years now. It’s ‘The Batting’ that’s been letting India down. Across formats.”
While some fans expressed discontent with his initial statement, Chopra clarified in a subsequent response that he acknowledges the subpar performance of India’s bowling in the match. However, he emphasized that considering batting has been considered India’s strength, it was disappointing to see it falter in both innings of the game.

Chopra recognizes the prowess of India’s bowling unit, which has consistently displayed the ability to take wickets and create pressure. However, he believes that the Indian batsmen have failed to consistently deliver match-winning performances, and the WTC Final served as a prime example of their shortcomings.
India will need to address their batting concerns and work on finding the right balance to enhance their chances of success in future competitions.
