India and Australia will play their second ODI match on March 19 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. India won the first match, and Australia needs to win to keep the series alive. In the previous match, Australia got all out for 188 runs, and India won by five wickets, thanks to KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliant batting. Ravindra Jadeja received the Player of the Match award for his excellent performance in the previous game. He took two wickets and completed a stunning catch. India will be happy to have Rohit Sharma back in the team after his brief break, and he will lead the side. He comes in place of Ishan Kishan.
But the bigger news is coming that Mohammed Shami is expected to be given rest for the 2nd ODI between India and Australia in Vishakapatnam. Mohammed Shami is playing constantly from last 3-4 months. He recently played all the 4 tests in Border Gavaskar Trophy which India won by 2-1. The in-form Axar Patel is expected to replace Shami if he is rested in the upcoming ODI.
Considering the spin-friendly nature of the Vishakapatnam pitch, the Indian team should pay attention to Mohammed Shami’s performance, as he is now the most experienced bowler in the team, with Jasprit Bumrah out due to injury. With the World Cup approaching, India cannot afford to lose another pacer, and thus Shami’s performance will be crucial.
