IND vs AUS 2nd ODI: Aakash Chopra pinpoints Suryakumar Yadav as the player to watch in India vs Australia ODI series

Former Indian opener discusses Yadav's importance and offers advice ahead of crucial match.

With the second ODI between India and Australia set to take place on Sunday, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra believes Suryakumar Yadav is the talking point ahead of the game.

Aakash Chopra, a former Indian opener and commentator, shared his views on the upcoming second One Day International (ODI) between India and Australia, stating that Suryakumar Yadav is the talking point heading into the match. After the Men in Blue took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, Chopra pointed out that Yadav was trapped plumb in front of the wickets by Mitchell Starc for a golden duck in the previous game and will want to give a better account of himself on 19th March, 2023.

India won the 1st ODI match

Chopra emphasized that Yadav, who played at No. 4 in the first ODI, is the focus of attention and that no one can match his skills in T20 cricket. However, he observed that Yadav has not been a regular member of India’s playing XI in ODI cricket, and that India playing limited ODIs in the last year or so has not helped his cause. Chopra, speaking on his YouTube channel, pointed out that the middle-order batter has not had many chances to impress in the 50-over format, but that he is an exceptional T20 player.

Chopra cautioned against putting undue pressure on Yadav, as he believes it may affect his specialty, which is the freedom to play. However, he advised Yadav to be mindful of the swinging ball, as there are chances of it hitting his pads, and not to try to hit a boundary on every ball when he gets a start.

According to Aakash Chopra, the upcoming India vs Australia ODI series is of great importance for Suryakumar Yadav, who is the focus of attention going into the second match. While every series is important for every player, Chopra acknowledged that this series is especially significant for Yadav, as Shreyas Iyer will take his place in the middle order once he returns.
