CSK vs SRH, the 46th gam of Tata IPL at MCA Stadium in Pune, perhaps marked the significant return of Chennai Super Kings in the tournament. MS Dhoni returned to captain the side after Ravindra Jadeja cited workload for not performing well. The game was a high scoring clash in which CSK won by 13 runs to register their 3rd win of the tournament. Meanwhile, SRH registered its 2nd consecutive loss after winning 5 matches in a row.

CSK had a dream start as both their openers dominated the star-studded SRH bowling line. Ruturaj and Devon Conway formed the highest partnership of the tournament so far. Together they put on 182 runs for the first wicket. Their stand is also the biggest partnership ever for Chennai Super Kings in IPL.
Ruturaj was unlucky as he got dismissed on 99 by T Natarajan. Gaikwad 6 fours and 6 sixes in his captivating knock. Meanwhile, Conway, on the other end, remained unbeaten on 85* off 55, including 8 fours and 4 sixes. CSK posted 202/2 in 20 overs.
SRH Inning:
Sunrisers had a fiery start with Abhishek Sharma taking the CSK bowlers for cleaners. He smashed 39 off 24. However, CSK made a comeback by dismissing Sharma and Rahul Tripathi in quick succession.
Kane Willimason stayed till the 15th over, but his inning lacked the intent required in a high scoring game. He scored 47 off 37. Nicholas Pooran played a fabulous knock but did not get the support from the other end to take his team to the finish line.
Pooran contributed an unbeaten 64* off 33. SRH fell short by 13 runs to concede the loss.
