Tickets for the India vs Pakistan 2023 World Cup match in Ahmedabad are being resold on viagogo, a global online sports ticket platform, for a staggering Rs 19,51,580 each, with additional charges for shipping and home delivery. Despite high demand and official partner Bookmyshow.com selling out quickly, viagogo still has over 100 tickets available.

Comparatively, tickets for an England vs New Zealand match at the same venue on October 5 are priced at a much lower Rs 6,000 for South Premium West Bay seats, with even cheaper options starting at Rs 1,000. Viagogo’s prices for the India vs Pakistan match range from Rs 66,000 to well over Rs 19,00,000, and these prices have been fluctuating based on availability.

Tickets for other India fixtures also exhibit steep pricing, with the India vs England match in Lucknow starting at Rs 2,34,632. The India vs Afghanistan match at Arun Jaitley Stadium starts at Rs 38,877 for the cheaper East Stand seats and reaches an astonishing Rs 2,34,622 for “Section: Category A.” Tickets for the India vs Australia match in Chennai start at Rs 31,340 and go up to Rs 9,31,295.

This significant surge in ticket prices is mainly observed for India matches, while other World Cup fixtures don’t experience such extreme pricing. Viagogo offers free home delivery and provides interactive maps on their website to assist customers in making informed decisions, with a nominal delivery fee of approximately Rs 400 per ticket.

CricketNext contacted Bookmyshow.com regarding the tickets available on viagogo and received a response indicating that they have already brought this issue to the attention of the organizers of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Bookmyshow.com has faced criticism on social media due to long waiting times when booking tickets, and the rapid sellout of tickets for all India matches, including warm-up games. In contrast, viagogo offers a more straightforward ticket purchasing experience, albeit at a significantly higher cost.
