IPL Auction 2022 has ended with all teams having their squads ready to roar in the IPL 2022 season. The season will commence from 2nd April 2022(tentative date).
1) Mumbai Indians
Possible XI – Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Kieron Pollard, Tim David, Daniel Sams, Jaydev Unadkat, Tymal Mills, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah.
Impactful Strategy
Mumbai Indians remained silent in IPL Auction 2022 for majority of the time, while all other teams were battling it out for their players like Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya. Mumbai Indians started making move in the second half of auction day 2. They had 28 crores still left in their purse which was much higher in comparison to other franchises. Within no time, Mumbai filled their playing XI with giant names of Jofra Archer, Tim David, Tymal Mills, Fabian Allen & Daniel Sams.

Weak Link
Losing out Quinton De Kock and Krunal Pandya in the IPL 2022 auction might cost them as both of them provided strength to Mumbai’s top and lower order respectively. Moreover, they lack a quality experienced Indian spinner in their side.
2) Chennai Super Kings
Possible XI – Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, Adam Milne.
Impactful Strategy
Chennai Super Kings made a great move of buying back their core team strength, which includes Ambati Rayudu, Deepak Chahar, Dwayne Bravo. Moreover, they have built a template similar to their earlier years which consist of plethora of bowling options and depth in batting.
Weak Link
Whitlepodu squad lacks the services of a quality overseas batsmen like Faf du Plessis.
3) Lucknow Super Giants
Possible XI – KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Manish Pandey, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Ankit Rajpoot, Mark Wood, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan.
Impactful Strategy
The franchise looks super strong on paper and checked all the boxes of having batsmans, all rounder and bowler of exceptional quality within their budget. Team built a solid core by picking KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi before the auction.
Weak Link
The team lacks experience in the spin department. Ravi Bishnoi can leak runs under pressure situations.
4) Gujarat Titans
Possible XI – Jason Roy, Shubman Gill, Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar, Mathew Wade, Hardik Pandya, Rahul Tewetia, Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Shami.
Impactful Strategy
Considering their first time at auction, Gujarat performed well as they managed to accumulate big names in their squad like Jason Roy, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Shami.
Weak Link
Though the team has big names but it certainly lacks experienced players in their side which can back fire them in crucial circumstances. The side includes too many youngsters at critical positions.

5) Delhi Capitals
Possible XI – David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, Rovman Powell, Sarfaraz Khan, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Chetan Sakariya.
Impactful Strategy
The team is filled with superstar names at every position whether in batting or bowling. They did an extremely good job of adding experienced players at right position.
Weak Link
If Anrich Nortje doesn’t recover from his injury then that bowling spot can be a point of concern as they lack a backup fast bowler of his calibre.
6) Punjab Kings
Possible XI – Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, Mayank Aggarwal, Liam Livingstone, Shahrukh Khan, Rishi Dhawan, Harpreet Brar, Odean Smith, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Chahar.
Impactful Strategy
This time Punjab Kings were on point in spending the correct amount for right player. They also have solid top batting order having Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, Mayank Aggarwal and great depth bowling which includes Kagiso Rabada & Arshdeep Singh.
Weak Link
The franchise looks shaky in batting line up from position 5 to 7 which does not have any big name and thus are exploitable under crucial moments.
7) Kolkata Knight Riders
Possible XI- Venkatesh Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, Sam Billings, Andre Russel, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Shivam Mavi, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy.
Impactful Strategy
They successfully managed to bring back their star performer Pat Cummins and Nitish Rana. In addition, Sam Billings was also brought which will strengthen the middle batting order of KKR. KKR also got themselves a potential captain Shreyas Iyer.
Weak Link
The fast pace bowling attack is fragile, as Umesh Yadav and Shivam Mavi have a history of leaking out runs. Ofcourse, everone still remembers 6 fours hit by Prithvi Shaw on Shivam Mavi bowling.
8) Rajasthan Royals
Possible XI – Yashaswi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, Jos Buttler, James Neesham, Riyan Parag, Ravi Ashwin, Trent Boult, Yuzi Chahal, Prasidh Krishna.
Impactful Strategy
Rasjasthan Royals have made their middle order quite dangerous by adding the names of Hetmyer, James Neesham. They have managed to tackle their problem of players who will finish the match for them.
Weak Link
Rajasthan top order has been unstable for a long time and now with two left handers on top can be fatal for their success.
9) Sunrisers Hyderabad
Possible XI – Aiden Markram, Rahul Tripathi, Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Washington Sundar, Romario Shephard, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natrajan.
Impactful Strategy
They have added strength in top order and maintained their bowling strength after buying back Bhuvi and Natrajan from their auction.
Weak Link
They still lack the services of a renowned power hitter at no 5,6 & 7, which was a concern for them earlier too.
10) Royal Challengers Bangalore
Possible XI – Faf Du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Anuj Rawat, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik, Mahipal Lomror, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, Mohammad Siraj.
Impactful Strategy
RCB tried to fit the crucial position with known and experienced players like Faf at top, Dinesh at down the order to finish the games and Hazlewood for depth bowling.
Weak Link
The middle batting order looks heavily dependent on two names Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik which can lead to unfavorable outcomes.
