Suryakumar Yadav, the No.1 ranked T20I batter, has been included in India’s Test squad for the first two matches against Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, set to begin on February 9th in Nagpur. This marks a big step for Suryakumar, who was previously only named as a backup option for the England series in 2021 and did not feature in any matches.
Suryakumar has been in great form in recent domestic cricket, returning to the Ranji Trophy to boost his red-ball aspirations. He played a magnificent 90-run knock against Hyderabad and then went on to score 95-run in the first innings and 38-run in the second innings against Saurashtra.
