The ICC concluded the 2024 T20 World Cup by announcing its team of the tournament, which featured six players from the victorious Indian team. Despite India’s win over South Africa in the final, none of the South African players made it into the XI.

Rohit Sharma, India’s captain, topped the list for his outstanding batting performances, while Suryakumar Yadav also earned a spot for his contributions in the middle-order. India’s bowling unit was prominently featured, with Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya recognized for their roles.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India ended an 11-year wait and clinched their first T20 World Cup title in 17 years with a thrilling victory over South Africa in Barbados. Despite South Africa initially seeming to dominate, India turned the match in their favor, especially through impressive death bowling spells by Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh.

Despite India star Virat Kohli being named Player of the Match in the final, he surprisingly did not secure a spot in the tournament’s team.
