IPL 2025 Auction: Five Youngest Players, from Vaibhav Suryavanshi to Allah Ghazanfar, in the Mega Auction List

The IPL 2025 Auction features 574 players, including 366 Indians and 208 overseas players, with three from Associate Nations. This year’s auction includes veterans in the twilight of their careers and young talents just stepping onto the big stage. Among them, three players are aged over 40, while at least fifteen teenagers are set to go under the hammer during the two-day event.

Thirteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar, priced at Rs 30 lakh, is the youngest entrant. Here, we spotlight the five youngest players in the auction:

Vaibhav Suryavanshi (India) – 13 years 7 months 28 days
Vaibhav is the youngest player ever to enter an IPL Auction. He debuted in first-class cricket for Bihar in January 2024 at just 12 years and 284 days, making him the youngest Indian to debut in first-class cricket since 1986. In September, he showcased his talent with a 62-ball 104 in a youth Test against Australia. His performances have secured him a spot in the India U-19 squad for the 2024 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup.

Ayush Mhatre (India) – 17 years 4 months 8 days
The Mumbai opening batter gained attention with a brilliant century in the Ranji Trophy shortly after being called up to the India U-19 squad for the Under-19 Asia Cup. Recently, Mhatre had a trial with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), an opportunity he described as a dream for any young cricketer.

Andre Siddarth (India) – 18 years 2 months 27 days
The tall middle-order batter from Tamil Nadu, standing 6 feet 3 inches, is another exciting young prospect in the auction. Siddarth debuted in first-class cricket earlier this year, amassing 294 runs at an impressive average of 98 over five innings. His consistent performances earned him a place in the India U-19 squad for the Under-19 Asia Cup.

Kwena Maphaka (South Africa) – 18 years 7 months 16 days
The left-arm fast bowler from Johannesburg is known for his pace, consistently reaching speeds of 140 kmph. Maphaka, who represented South Africa in the U-19 World Cup, previously joined Mumbai Indians as a replacement in IPL 2024 but is now back in the auction. He has already made his T20I debut for the senior South African team.

Allah Ghazanfar (Afghanistan) – 18 years 8 months 4 days
The Afghan mystery spinner has drawn attention with impressive performances for both development teams and the senior national team. In the Emerging Asia Cup earlier this year, Ghazanfar stood out and has since played eight ODIs, taking 12 wickets, including a best of 6 for 26 against Bangladesh.

While there is no guarantee these teenagers will be picked in the auction, their talent suggests they could become stars in future IPL seasons.
