Mumbai Indians- The most prestigious and successful team in the T20 tournament across the globe. Mumbai Indians have won IPL five times, which is also the highest in IPL. The franchise is led by Rohit Sharma, who has done an exceptional job as he managed to defeat Chennai Super Kings under Dhoni on multiple occasions in the IPL finals. Moreover, Rohit Sharma has a success rate of 100% of lifting the IPL trophy in the final of the tournament.

IPL had its mega auction recently in February 2022 that allowed teams to retain a maximum of 4 players out of their squad. Mumbai Indians have produced some national players like Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav. Thus, it was a headache for the management to settle for only 4 and release other members into the auction.

Mumbai Indians decided to retain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav & Kieron Pollard for their core strength. Releasing Ishan Kishan into the auction was a surprise and huge gamble played by Mumbai. However, they bought him back for 15.25 crores in the auction.

    Possible Playing XI

    1) Rohit Sharma

Captain Rohit Sharma will be leading the franchise as he has recovered from his hamstring injury and is fit to perform in every format. Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma both are incomplete without each other. We hope to see Rohit opening the innings with his pull shots in the upcoming season.

    2) Ishan Kishan

The extravagant player of IPL Auction 2022 accumulated 15.25 crores from Mumbai Indians. The pocket dynamo can open the innings permanently for the team, after the exit of Quinton de Kock from the team. Rohit and Ishan are a lethal combination for any bowler.

    3) Suryakumar Yadav

SKY would preferably continue to perform his anchor role for Mumbai Indians coming at number 3 in the batting order. Suryakumar Yadav has some astonishing numbers for the franchise and is extremely valuable to them under any condition in a match. He was also man of the series in recently concluded West Indies vs India Series .

    4) Dewald Brevis

The under-19 South African cricketer, also known as Mini ABD or ABD 2.0 was bought by MI in IPL auction 2022 at an amount of 3 crores. The player was the highest run-scorer in the recently concluded U-19 World Cup 2022, where India U-19 emerged victorious for the title.

    5) Kieron Pollard

The Caribbean all-rounder is an integral strength of the team. He has taken the team over the finishing line on a plethora of occasions. With his big muscles, no boundary is long enough to not be cleared by him. Mumbai Indians cannot rule him out at any cost.

    6) Tilak Verma

Tilak Verma is a middle-order batter, who can bowl off-spin occasionally. He had a stunning last season of Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored 215 runs in 7 games at a strike rate of 147.26. Will he be another star born out of Mumbai Indians camp to represent the Indian national team?

    7) Tim David

The Singaporean batting all-rounder has been in the headlines for his spectacular hitting abilities and could be an ideal choice for Mumbai Indians, who can give them extra 15-20 runs within no time. Tim David has an average of 47.67 with a strike rate of 157.72 in 11 T20i games. Those stats are scary enough for any bowler around the globe.

    8) Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat does leak a lot of runs, having an economy of nearly 9, although he does provide crucial breakthroughs at crunch moments in the game. Thus, he can play the supporting role around Bumrah-Archer.

    9) Jofra Archer

The ECB has given the green signal to Jofra Archer for his inclusion in IPL 2022. The combination of Bumrah- Archer can be a death threat for batters and they need to save their toes and heads from the respective bowlers.

    10) Mayank Markande

Mayank Markande has been associated with Mumbai Indians for a long time but couldn’t get the countable opportunity in playing XI. Though we believe Mumbai might have groomed him enough in the past and now Mayank can spell his wrist magic on the field.

    11) Jasprit Bumrah

You cannot rule out BOOM BOOM Bumrah from any squad and any format of the world. He has so much to offer to his team whenever he steps onto the field. Batters be cautious to have extra protection near your toes to defend the yorkers from this Mumbai Indians bowler.

We believe Mumbai Indians can have this possible playing XI for IPL season 2022 as this provides a great depth in their batting as Tim David comes at number 7, who can strike the bowlers around the ground. Moreover, the presence of all-rounder and the overseas bowler is a cherry on the cake for bowling department strength.
