The final match of the three-match T20 International series between England and West Indies was played in Southampton. In this high-scoring encounter, hosts England posted a massive total of 248 runs, completely dominating the West Indies bowling attack.
This score marked England’s second-highest total in T20I history. In response, West Indies managed to score only 211 runs, falling short by 37 runs. With this victory, England completed a clean sweep over the visitors in the T20I series, having already whitewashed them in the preceding ODI series.

Talking about the match, West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, the decision backfired as England got off to a flying start. The Caribbean team had to wait until the 8.5-over mark to get their first breakthrough, by which time England had already scored 120 runs.
England ended their innings at 248/3 in 20 overs. Jamie Smith smashed 60 runs off just 26 balls, Ben Duckett scored a brilliant 84 off 46 balls, Jos Buttler contributed 22 runs from 10 balls, Harry Brook added 35 off 22 balls, and Jacob Bethell hammered 36 from just 16 balls. In total, England batters struck 15 sixes and 18 fours.
Chasing a daunting target of 249, West Indies lost both openers within the first five overs. Captain Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer tried to stabilize the innings, but Hetmyer was dismissed after a quickfire 26 off 8 balls. Hope scored 45 runs from 27 balls, Rovman Powell played a fighting knock of 79 off 45, and Jason Holder added 25 off 12. However, the team could only reach 211/8 in their 20 overs.
