England defeated Pakistan by 69 runs to win the 7th T20 of the series and ultimately become the series winners as well. They posted 209 runs on the board, which proved too much for the Pakistani batting line-up filled with inexperienced players. Pakistan could only muster 142 runs in reply to concede a huge loss.
Here’s how England defeated Pakistan in the 7th T20:
England batted first, with Philip Salt and Alex Hales providing them with a good start. Salt scored 20 off 12 before being run out, while Hales made 18 off 13. Dawid Malan was the star with the bat in the match.
Malan made 78* off 47, which included 3 massive sixes and 8 fours. Ben Duckett also displayed good batting and contributed 30 off 19. Harry Brook, the latest sensation, helped England finish with a massive total on the board. The batter remained not out on 46* off 29.
Chasing the massive total of 210, Pakistan needed its openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to fire from both ends. However, both of them failed in the important match. Rizwan scored 1 while Babar could only make 4 runs.
Shan Masood was the only batter who showed a bit of resilience. He scored 56 off 43. Other than him, no Pakistani batter crossed the 30-run mark in the last T20 of the series. The next best for them was Khushdil Shah with 27 off 25.
For England, Chris Woakes picked 3 wickets while David Willey took 2 wickets. Topley, Rashid and Curran also got one wicket each. With this win, England has shown they are a team to watch out for in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
