IND vs NZ T20I Series: No chance for Prithvi Shaw as India to play with Shubman Gill in T20I series against Kiwis

With Gill's impressive performances in the ODI series, Indian team management has decided to go with the youngster for the upcoming T20I series against the Kiwis, leaving no room for Prithvi Shaw.

The highly anticipated T20I series between India and New Zealand is just around the corner and fans are eagerly waiting to see how the Men in Blue will compete against the Kiwis.

Gill and Pandya

India’s T20I captain, Hardik Pandya, has just announced that the young and talented Shubman Gill will be taking the field for the first match of the series on Friday, January 27th.

This decision comes as no surprise as Gill has been in exceptional form lately, scoring 360 runs in three ODIs against New Zealand. He also made history by becoming the youngest player to hit a double century in the 50-over format. This year alone, Gill has amassed a staggering 567 runs in six ODIs, averaging an impressive 113.40.

Gill also made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, where he managed 58 runs in three matches.

Hardik Pandya has guaranteed Gill a place in the Playing XI and stated that his recent performances have earned him the opportunity to play in the T20I series against New Zealand.

“Shubman Gill has done exceptionally well so there is no talk about an opportunity. He will start because of his performances and has been in the team for Sri Lanka’s T20Is,” he said.

India recently won the ODI series against New Zealand by a margin of 3-0, but Hardik has emphasized that the team will have to play even better in the slam-bang version of the game. The T20I series promises to be a thrilling and exciting one, with both teams determined to come out on top.

With Shubman Gill’s inclusion, fans can expect an exciting display of skill and talent from the Men in Blue. Don’t miss out on the action, the first match of the series starts on Friday, January 27th.
