Cricbuzz reported that the Indian market contributes more than 4/5 of ICC’s total revenue. This shows the impact BCCI can have on ICC. The Board of Cricket Council of India is the biggest and richest cricketing board in the world due to its massive fan following of India.

In the 2022 T20 World Cup, the match between India and Pakistan on the group stage filled up the entire Melbourne Cricket Stadium. It was also the match with the highest viewership in the whole tournament. Cricket is loved and worshipped in India, and this is one of the factors that continue to drive revenues for both BCCI and ICC.

The upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be played in India, and it is very likely that India and Pakistan will be placed in the same group to maximise revenue. The ICC is going to benefit a lot with the cricket World Cup 2023 scheduled to be played in India.
