IPL 2022, MI VS DC: MI Wins, RCB qualifies for the playoffs

MI vs DC, the 2nd last game of Tata IPL before the beginning of playoffs, was an important match in which Delhi’s win could have guaranteed its spot in the eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants.

However, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets to take out Delhi from the race of the playoffs. With Mumbai’s win, Royal Challengers Bangalore have qualified for the eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants.

In the T20 between MI and DC, Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked his opponent to bat first. Delhi could only score a par total of 159/7 in its innings due to a poor performance from the top-order.

Dewald Brevis and Ishan Kishan also contributed handsomely with 37 and 48 runs respectively. MI won the game with 5 wickets and 5 balls to spare. However, they still finished the group stage at the bottom of the points table with only 4 wins in 14 games.
