KKR Inning:

Kolkata Knight Riders put up a good partnership for the first wicket, with Venkatesh Iyer regaining the form. Iyer scored a brilliant 43 off 24. Nitish Rana, promoted to bat at 3, was equally fabulous as he scored 43 off 26.

However, other than Iyer and Rana, KKR batters failed to register good scores. Jasprit Bumrah bowled one of the best spells ever in IPL history to restrict Knight Riders.

Bumrah took 5 wickets by giving only 10 runs in 4 overs. He also bowled a maiden over, which earned him a player of the match award in a losing cause. KKR scored 165/9 in the 20 overs.

MI Inning:

Mumbai Indians kept losing wickets at regular intervals to suffer a massive loss throughout their inning. Ishan Kishan was the only batter to put up a fight against the Knight Riders.

Kishan scored 51 off 43 but did not receive support from the other end, which caused Mumbai Indians’ defeat. No other MI batter even reached the 20 run mark in the entire chase.

Pat Cummins took 3 wickets while Andre Russell accounted for 2 batters in the game.
