IPL 2022, MI VS SRH: Tripathi, Garg keep SRH alive in the tournament

Rahul Tripathi and Priyam Garg played great knocks in MI vs SRH clash to help their team win the contest and stay alive in the tournament. This win has given them some hope of making it to the playoffs. However, they still depend on the outcome of other remaining games in the tournament to make it to the playoffs.

The match was a thrilling contest in which Mumbai looked in complete control in the chase, but the unfortunate run out of destructive Tim David robbed them of the victory.

SRH Inning:

Kane Williamson dropped himself down the order due to his dismal run in the ongoing edition of the league. Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Garg made most of the opportunity and scored at a brisk rate.

Tripathi joined Garg in the middle after Sharma was dismissed on 9 off 10. Tripathi and Garg made a 78 runs partnership for the second wicket. Priyam Garg scored 42 off 26. Garg’s departure brought in Nicholas Pooran, who also played a handy knock.

Pooran and Tripathi put together 76 runs for the 3rd wicket. Pooran scored 38 off 22 while Tripathi notched up 76 off 44. SRH finished with 193/6 in the 20 overs.

MI Inning:

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan showed intent on chasing down the huge target. Together they formed a stand of 95 runs for the first wicket. However, they were both dismissed in quick succession, which shifted the momentum in SRH’s favour. Sharma scored 48 and Kishan 43.

Daniel Sams and Tilak Varma did not contribute much to the chase. However, Tim David snatched the control from Hyderabad. He smashed T Natarajan for 4 sixes in the 18th over but ran himself out in an attempt to keep the strike in the following over.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled an exceptional wicket-maiden in the 19th over, which sealed the deal for Sunrisers. Ultimately MI fell short by 3 runs.
