Rajasthan Royals has come out to be one of the most impressive teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the past few years. The team, after winning the inaugural edition of the tournament, failed to win a single tournament. However, the team did reach the final of IPL 2022 before losing to Gujarat Titans in the final.

Rajasthan Royals will start their campaign in IPL 2022 with a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2, 2023. Hence, the question arises, who will be opening for Rajasthan Royals this time?

Rajasthan Royals have so many openers in their squad that they are often confused about whom to open the innings with. The team has the destructive Jos Buttler, the very talented youngsters – Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal, and the captain – Sanju Samson who could open the innings for Rajasthan Royals.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal have been tried as openers for RR in IPL 2022, but both of them could not replicate the same success as Jos Buttler.

Hence, it is expected that Jos Buttler will open Rajasthan’s innings along with Sanju Samson. Sanju Samson used to open in the IPL. This year too the RR captain can look to maximize this potential of him by opening the innings alongside Jos Buttler in IPL 2023.

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League will be starting from March 31 and the last league match will be played on May 21. Defending Champions Gujarat Titans will be facing Chennai Super Kings in the opening encounter. This time, the tournament will have a total of 74 matches. The tournament will stream live on Star Sports Network and JioCinema in India.
