The impending IPL 2024 auction, scheduled for December 19 in Dubai, marks the first time the event is being held outside India. A total of 1166 players have registered, with 25 placing themselves in the highest base price category of Rs 2 crore. The ten franchises have the task of filling 77 slots, including 30 for overseas players.
Among the prominent overseas players set to feature in the auction are Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Rachin Ravindra, Travis Head, Daryl Mitchell, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Angelo Mathews, Harry Brook, and Steve Smith. On the Indian front, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Kedar Jadhav, and Harshal Patel will be up for auction.

Players listed with a Rs 2 Crore base price for the IPL Auction 2024 include Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Kedar Jadhav, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Sean Abbott, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Mustafizur Rahman, Tom Banton, Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Lockie Ferguson, Gerald Coetzee, Rilee Rossouw, Rassie van der Dussen, and Angelo Mathews.
Surprisingly, Kedar Jadhav, Angelo Mathews and Mujeeb Ur Rahman who went unsold in the previous IPL auction have kept their base price at Rs 2 Crore. All three of them could once again go unsold. Only, Mujeeb Ur Rahman looks like someone who might have a chance at getting being picked by an IPL team in the upcoming auction.
