India’s young sensation, Shubman Gill, made history on Wednesday as he recorded the highest T20 score by an Indian batter in a thrilling 2-1 series victory over New Zealand.

This helped India reach its fifth-highest T20 total, and secure a commanding 168-run victory over the New Zealand side. The Kiwis were unable to keep up, collapsing to 66 all out in just 12.1 overs, their third-lowest T20I total ever.

Gill’s remarkable innings saw him surpass the previous record held by former Indian captain, Virat Kohli, and join an elite club of Indian batters who have scored a century in all three formats, including Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Kohli himself.
