Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his hand in the match against Ireland on 5th June 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. He was retired hurt after scoring 52 not out. Sharma’s inning ensured that India won the match with ease. With Virat Kohli departing for his lowest ever T20 World Cup total of 1 run, it was important for Rohit Sharma to carry on.

Sharma was aided in his pursuit of the Ireland’s target by Rishabh Pant, who made an emphatic comeback by scoring an unbeaten match winning knock. Unfortunately Suryakumar Yadav could not do well at all. But India still walked away with many positives. However, the main question is whether Rohit Sharma is going to be available for the match against Pakistan.
