  • 7 Players Expected to Perform in IND vs PAK in Asia Cup 2022

    Recently, it was announced by Pakistan Cricket Board that Shaheen Shah Afridi would not be part of the Pakistani team that will face India and others in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 in UAE. Earlier in the month, the Board of Cricket Council of India had revealed that Jasprit Bumrah would also not feature in the Asia Cup 2022. The Indian pacer is ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. Both India and Pakistan will be without their premium fast bowler, which will make it hard for them to find the right balance. In their last meeting at T20 World Cup, Pakistan bossed India due to the fiery spell of Shaheen Shah Afridi. However, this time around, they will be counting on other bowlers to do the job.     8- Hardik Pandya

However, he made his presence felt in the 8 innings by scoring 303 runs at a healthy strike rate of 145.67 and a staggering average of 43.29. Yadav has been a revelation for India in T20is. He performed exceptionally as a finisher against West Indies and Sri Lanka in T20is for India before IPL 2022. He is making his return to the India squad against Ireland.

    Reason for selection: 360-degree gameplay and the ability to carry an inning make him the perfect backup player for Virat Kohli. 




    11- Harshal Patel

     

    Harshal Patel is definitely going to be in the Indian squad for the T20i World Cup. The right-arm medium-pace bowler is an excellent option for death bowling. He picked 19 wickets in 15 games in IPL 2022 while giving away runs at an astonishing economy of 7.66. Patel has emerged as a death-over specialist with his deceptive slower balls and pinpoint yorkers. Against South Africa, he dismissed the dangerous David Miller twice in two consecutive games to contribute to the Indian victory.

    Reason for selection: Death over specialist who can also swing around his bat in the time of need. Harshal initially started as a pure all-rounder in cricket.




    12- Jasprit Bumrah

He is widely considered the most difficult bowler to face in the shortest format of the game.     13- Bhuvneshwar Kumar

The Indian team can use his quota of the overs at both the front and back end of the innings due to his ability to perform well in both phases of the matches.

    14- Yuzvendra Chahal

His economy was also extraordinary as he gave away runs at only 7.75. Chahal was selected over Ravi Bishnoi in all four T20is that India played against South Africa.     15- Umran Malik

Unfortunately, BCCI has not included him in the squad for the Test match against England.

  • Kapil Dev Slams the Indian Trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul: Know What He Said

    Legendary World Cup-winning captain and all-rounder for India Kapil Dev have criticised the famous Indian trio of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma on the YouTube channel Uncut. He seemed utterly disappointed with their approach in the shortest format of the game.

    Recently, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had one of their worst IPL seasons in which they averaged below 30, and their strike rates were also not up to the standards. KL Rahul, on the other hand, finished as the second-highest run-getter in the IPL 2022, but his strike rate was a heavy point of concern. Kapil Dev was not impressed with any of them in the IPL.

    Kohli, Rohit and Rahul are supposed to be India’s choice for the top three for the T20i World Cup, which is scheduled to be played later this year in Australia.     Just before the series Kapil Dev has come out to share his opinion. He feels that the Indian trio is too concerned about getting out and refrains from playing the fearless cricket, which is the demand of T20i. He also believes that BCCI can make changes to the top three before the T20i World Cup.

    Here’s what Kapil Dev said, “They have a big reputation, and there’s huge pressure on them, which shouldn’t be the case. You have to play fearless cricket. All of these are players who can hit at a strike rate of 150-160. Whenever we need them to score runs, they all get out. When it is time to take off (in the innings), they are out. And that adds to pressure. Either you play an anchor or you play striker.”

    On KL Rahul, Kapil Dev said, “When you talk about KL Rahul, if the team tells him to play the entire 20 overs and you come back with a score of, say 60 not out, you’re not doing justice to your team.”

    Kapil Dev believes that the Indian team needs to change their approach. He further added to his comments, “I think the approach needs to change. And if it doesn’t, you have to change the players.     India Vs SA T20i series will commence on 9th June when both the teams will face each in the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The Men in Blue are led by KL Rahul, while Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas side.
