Team Affiliates played their inaugurating match of the ongoing iFest 2022 against the Team Entrepreneurs. The match was filled with dramatic turns in which crucial spells from Ankit Mandhan and Tanuj Kwatra ensured a victory for the Team Affiliates. Earlier in the game, Ankit Mandhan was also fabulous with the bat and registered a blistering half-century and departed only after scoring a quick fire 53 off 28 with the help of four gigantic sixes and four fours. Team Affiliates finished with 153/10 in 14.5 overs due to Ankit’s flourish and won the match by 14 runs as the Team Entrepreneurs could only muster up 139/9 in 15 overs.

Antas Ahuja, the skipper for the Team Affiliates, won the toss and opted to bat first at CK Playstation in Noida. Both the teams introduced their playing eleven before the action finally commenced at 9:39 AM.
Team Affiliates Inning:
Tanuj Kwatra and Jai Sharma opened the inning for Team Affiliates, but unfortunately, they could not construct a big partnership as the former was sent back to the pavilion by a run out effected by Sumit. Kwatra could only register 2 off 2. However, Jai Sharma, one of the most senior players in the team, took the responsibility on his shoulders to give the team a fiery start. Sharma played a quick knock of 28 off 15, which included 2 massive sixes and 3 fours.
Antas Ahuja, the skipper, also played a vital inning of 26 off 23 and helped consolidate the Team Affiliates inning in the middle overs when wickets kept tumbling from the other end. However, Ankit Mandhan was a class apart in this match and rightly won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock. He was phenomenal and propelled the Team Affiliates to 153, a target which seemed quite impossible at one point.

Team Entreprenuers Inning:
In reply to Affiliates’ 153, the Entrepreneurs made a solid start. The opening combo of Ayushman Paliwal and Ravin Joshi was threatening to take the match away from the Affiliates before Saksham Sethi dismissed Joshi to bring back his team into the game. However, Team Entrepreneur was still in a dominant position, with Ayushman and Santosh Bhahat refusing to let Team Affiliates break through their defence.
It was at this time that Tanuj Kwatra and Ankit Mandhan bowled fine spells to extinguish all hopes of the Team Entrepreneurs. Ankit Mandhan took 2 wickets for 11 runs in 3 overs, while Tanuj Kwatra bagged 2 wickets for 10 runs in 3 overs. No Team Entrepreneurs batter showed enough application and grit to take the match away from the Affiliates. They ended up scoring 139/9 in 15 overs to concede a loss by 14 runs.
Team Affiliates will now face the Team Rankers on 27th October, while Team Entrepreneurs will face the Team Marketers on the same day.
