The official launch event for the new jersey of the Indian team took place at 8 PM at Bandstand Promenade in Mumbai. The event was live streamed on Instagram.

BCCI originally hinted that a new jersey and kit for the Indian team was about to be launched on 15th September 2022. The news was later confirmed by the official jersey partner MPL sports on 16th September with the announcement that the new jersey will be revealed in Mumbai on Sunday, 18th September 2022.

Here is the BCCI Tweet that confirmed the launch of a new jersey for the Indian team:

The official jersey reveal for the Indian team was live streamed on the Insta handle of MPL Sports. This time around, India will sport a lighter shade of blue, which may remind many of the Indian team’s jersey back in the 2011 World Cup. MPL Sports has decided to bring back that shade of blue in which India had lifted the 50 Over World Cup trophy under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

Here is the much-awaited new jersey that the Indian team will flaunt at the T20I World Cup:

New Jersey for Team India

India will first face off Australia in this new jersey for a three-match T20I series which is scheduled to begin on 20th September in Mohali. The Indian team will then go against South Africa in a three-match T20I series which is scheduled to begin on 28th September 2022. After this, India will move on to the T20I World Cup, where they will begin their campaign in this new jersey against Pakistan on 23rd October 2022.
