With this knock, Gill not only silenced his critics but also powered India to a massive 168-run victory over New Zealand in the 3rd T20I.

Despite his success in the ODI format, Gill struggled in T20Is and faced questions about his place in the team. However, his skipper, Hardik Pandya, had full faith in the opener and encouraged him to play his natural game.
