    England has announced their playing XI for the first Ashes test against Australia, set to commence at Edgbaston on Friday, and it promises to be a formidable lineup. Experienced campaigners Stuart Broad and Moeen Ali have earned their spots in the team, adding depth and skill to the squad.

    The pace attack will be spearheaded by the legendary duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad, joined by the promising Ollie Robinson. Anderson and Robinson were rested for the recent Test against Ireland, where Broad showcased his prowess by taking an impressive five-wicket haul in the first innings, dismantling the opposition for a mere 172 runs.

    Moeen Ali, who retired from Test cricket in 2021, is set to make a remarkable return to the side. His inclusion comes as a replacement for the injured Jack Leach, who unfortunately had to be ruled out of the series due to a back injury. Moeen’s wealth of experience and spin-bowling prowess will add a valuable dimension to England’s game plan.

    The playing XI also includes the return of Jonny Bairstow, who made a comeback after a lengthy hiatus caused by a freak golf injury. Bairstow’s wicket-keeping skills and batting prowess make him a valuable asset to the team.
