The heartwarming and yet heartbreaking visual made Indian fans all over the world realise the importance of Jhulan Goswami’s contribution to India’s Women’s Cricket.

    The legendary fast-bowler is India’s highest wicket-taker, with more than 350 wickets to her name. Jhulan Goswami will love to add more to her tally during the final match, which is now being played at Lord’s cricket ground.

    The Indian skipper is clearly one of the closest people to Jhulan in the team, and her emotions came out flooding during the team huddle. Jhulan hugged Harmanpreet and tried to console her somehow. The whole scene was quite moving.

    The destructive Aussie batter could have been a game changer if he was not dismissed early in his innings. He scored a brilliant half-century against India in the first T20I and secured the award for the man of the match. It was vital for India to dismiss the flamboyant player somehow.

    The incident that we are referring to here happened in the 2nd over of the Australian inning. Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, made a gamble by choosing Axar Patel to bowl in the powerplay. He knew that Cameron Green would definitely go for a big hit, and there might be an opportunity to take his wicket in that situation.

    On the third bowl of Axar’s over, Cameron Green moved legside to smash the ball. However, he ended up mistiming it, and the ball went to the right of the fielder at mid-on. Virat Kohli was positioned there, and he moved as swiftly as a cheetah to collect the bowl to make an accurate bullet throw that Axar Patel collected and dislodged the bail with.

    The young Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh almost pulled a victory for India in the thriller against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2022, and despite that, he is treated harshly by trollers and angry Indian fans who still blame him for India’s loss against the arch-rival Pakistan.

    For those who don’t know, Arshdeep Singh had dropped a catch in the 19th over of the game against Pakistan. India ultimately lost the match, and the young left-arm pacer was trolled everywhere on social media. People from the cricket fraternity came out in his support to justify his dropped catch.

    This shameful incident occurred in front of the Indian team bus after India’s match against Sri Lanka. The man who claimed to be an Indian fan was supposedly waiting in front of the bus for Indian team members to catch a glimpse of his favourite cricketers.

    However, when Arshdeep Singh was the last one to board the bus, the man started hurling abuses at him in the Punjabi language. He was blaming Arsdheep for India’s loss against Pakistan. The bizarre incident has left the cricket fraternity and fans shocked.

    The abuser was confronted by an Indian journalist named Vimal Kumar for objectionable remarks. The journalist rightly came in support of the young 23-year-old. Other journalists present at the moment recorded the whole shocking incident.

    The security personnel intervened when the argument between the abuser and the journalist started to heat up. The security calmed the journalist down and removed the abuser from there to settle the issue.

    This was the first incident in which Arshdeep Singh was subject to trolling and abusive remarks in real. Before this incident, he was only subjected to social media trolling.

    However, one opener became a topic of discussion among the netizens due to a bizarre incident. Ishan Kishan, who is also in the squad against Zimbabwe and played the first match in the series, has caused a stir on social media. It all happened during the National Anthem before the game commenced. 

    You might be already aware that all players of a team who are in the squad and present at the ground are required to come out and stand up on the cricket ground during the National Anthem before an international cricket match. Therefore Ishan Kishan also walked out with his fellow teammates for the National Anthem before the game between India and Zimbabwe began. Kishan was standing beside the spinner, Kuldeep Yadav. 

    During the National, Anthem, Kishan was singing with all his heart when suddenly an insect came near his face and started causing trouble for him. Ishan Kishan did not know what to do at that moment of time and looked at Kuldeep Yadav, who was busy singing the National Anthem. Thankfully, the insect went away in a moment without causing too much trouble for the young prodigy.

    The World Cup Winner Yuvraj Singh was part of a huge controversy in 2020. He went live on Instagram with Rohit Sharma and made a derogatory remark about Yuzi Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Yuvraj said, “Ye bha*gi logon ko koi kaam nahi hai, isko (Kuldeep Yadav) aur Yuzi ko. Yuzi ko dekha kya video daala apni family ke saath?”

    3- Yuzvendra Chahal

    Yuzvendra Chahal is always in the news for his social media antics. He is involved in quite a few controversies on social media. However, his most embarrassing moment came when a girl on Insta shared the screenshot of his dm on her story.

     

    4- Aditya Tare

    Aditya Tare, the player who has represented Mumbai Indians in IPL, made abusive comments against the Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan on Twitter in 2012. SRK was banned from Wankhede Stadium after he had a quarrel with security personnel while being drunk. Tare took that opportunity and Tweeted, “Drunk Shah Rukh banned at Wankhede for life……. hahahahahaha!!! King khan my a**.”

    5- Rohit Sharma

    Rohit Sharma, the current Indian skipper, was caught in an embarrassing situation when he posted a photo from the Champions Trophy 2013 celebration. However, he Tweeted memories to cherish from the 2017 Champions Trophy, which India actually lost badly against Pakistan.

     

    6- Virat Kohli

    The modern-day legend made a weird Tweet in 2011 that sparked controversy on social media. The right-handed batter replied to the TV presenter Shibani Dandekar’s Tweet without her mentioning anything about him.

     

    7- Virender Sehwag

    The former Indian opener is quite vocal on social media, and this has proved to be a fatal flaw for him. In 2018 Sehwag made a senseless Tweet that made people on social media believe that the cricketer is not secular in nature. Sehwag accused three Muslim men of lynching a woman while ignoring the other suspects, who were Hindu and Christian. He later deleted the Tweet and apologised for the same.

     

    8- Gautam Gambhir

    Gautam Gambhir is also a vocal personality on social media just like his old opening partner Virender Sehwag. Gambhir was not pleased with ESPN Cricinfo’s Tweet in 2020 and replied to it in the most distasteful way possible. The netizens trolled Gambhir and told him to calm down.

    On 20th July 2022, Pujara added another double hundred to his name in County Cricket as he scored 231 runs off 403 balls against Middlesex.     He was drafted into the squad of Sussex and had a fruitful season for them in April-May. Guess it was best the Indian team did not use him against the star-studded English batting line-up. For those who don’t know, this is not the first time that Pujara has bowled in a match. He has actually bowled previously in a few first-class matches and has picked up 6 wickets so far in his career.
